Bengaluru, November 1: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Sunday reviewed the manufacturing of the Bharat-made B28 bullet train at the ADITYA manufacturing facility in Bengaluru.

The minister reviewed the specialised manufacturing infrastructure at the facility, including precision-engineered jigs and fixtures used for carbody fabrication. He watched key stages of production, among them underframe, sidewall and roof assembly, car assembly, and surface preparation and treatment.

According to the Ministry of Railways, these processes are critical to achieving the precision, strength and quality standards required for high-speed rail operations.

Squeeze test

Mr Vaishnaw also watched a demonstration of the squeeze test, a quality assurance process in which the train’s carbody is subjected to controlled compressive and tensile forces. The test assesses the structural strength, rigidity and dimensional stability of the carbody.

Seats and onboard systems

He examined the passenger seats, with a focus on the comfort and convenience they will offer during high-speed journeys. He also reviewed key onboard systems and components, including the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) system, couplers and other train equipment and assemblies.

The minister also reviewed the manufacturing of side and roof modules and watched the integration and assembly work that follows.
