Ayodhya, November 7: Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan inaugurated the tenth Deepotsav celebrations at Ram Ki Paidi in Ayodhya on Saturday.

Ghats, performances and Saryu Aarti

The Vice-President watched the illuminated ghats, Ramayana-themed performances and fireworks, and joined the Saryu Aarti at Naya Ghat.

Growth in the number of lamps

Radhakrishnan noted that the festival has grown from about 1.7 lakh lamps in 2017 to over 26 lakh in 2025. This year’s target is more than 30 lakh lamps at Ram Ki Paidi and 70 lakh across the city.

Livelihoods, technology and youth

He praised the event for supporting local livelihoods and for its use of drones and about 1,000 artists. “Deepotsav has evolved into a celebration of Jan Bhagidari,” he said.

The Vice-President urged young people to learn the lessons of the Ramayana while staying connected to India’s cultural roots.
